GMAC Bowl Announces 2008 Game Date

(MOBILE, Ala.)–GMAC Bowl President Jerry Silverstein announced that the ninth annual GMAC Bowl will be played on Sunday, January 6, 2008.

“Moving the GMAC Bowl game date last year to the eve of the BCS Championship was an overwhelming success,” said Silverstein. “For seven years we were successful as one of the first bowl games of the season. Now we’re beginning a tradition of excellence as one of the last bowl games of the season. This year we’re looking forward to our eighth straight sellout.”

The 2007 GMAC Bowl pitted the Ohio University Bobcats (9-4) against the Golden Eagles of Southern Miss (9-5) was the earliest sell-out in GMAC Bowl history.
