GMAC Sweepstakes Winner Receives Her Chevy Malibu

MUNCIE, Ind. — The winner of the 2008 GMAC Bowl Right Stuff Challenge took possession of a new 2008 Chevrolet Malibu following her winning performance at the 2008 GMAC Bowl in January.

Ball State University senior Amy Duncan accepted the keys to her new Malibu from Steve DeAnda, president of American Chevrolet and Cadillac in Muncie, Ind., and Bryan Figge, GMAC Indianapolis branch manager.

Duncan competed against three other students in the Right Stuff Challenge during halftime of the annual GMAC Bowl college football game in Mobile, Alabama. The Right Stuff Challenge requires participants to quickly dress in football gear and race to the center of the field with the quickest being declared the winner. Duncan’s victory at the GMAC Bowl was the result of a much better effort than her last-place finish when chosen for the event held at Ball State during the 2007 GMAC Bowl Campus Tour last year.

“Winning the vehicle was overwhelming and really exciting,” Duncan said. “I really didn’t expect to win after the first time, and I almost didn’t accept the trip to the Bowl because I didn’t think I would win — but I’m sure glad I decided to go!”

The Right Stuff Challenge during the GMAC Bowl was the culmination of the season-long 2007 campus tour visiting 29 schools tied to the three athletic conferences which vie for a spot in the annual GMAC Bowl game, Conference USA (C-USA), the Mid-American Conference (MAC) and the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). At each tour stop, five home team students competed on-field during halftime for the fastest Right Stuff Challenge time and a $1,000 scholarship. All of the participants were also placed in the sweepstakes drawing to win a trip to the GMAC Bowl and opportunity to compete for a Chevrolet Malibu.
