Area Schools Participate in Sixth Annual Spectronics Cheerleading Competition

Mobile, Ala.- The Sixth Annual Spectronics Cheerleading Competition presented by the
GoDaddy.com Bowl was held on October 1, 2011 at the Mobile Convention Center. The competition
hosted competitors from around the region and the level of competitiveness did not disappoint.

The categories included junior high, junior varsity and varsity squads for building, non-building and co-ed.

The competition was fierce as 12 squads competed for first place. Two new competitors this
year were Opp High School and Murphy High School. Six of the 12 squads had repeat performances
of the 2010 competition:

2nd Place – Callaway-Smith Middle School (2010 winners)
3rd Place – Belsaw-Mt. Vernon Middle School
