2011 HOAR PROGRAM MANAGEMENT GODADDY.COM BOWL LEARNING THROUGH READING PROGRAM WINNERS

(MOBILE, Ala.)- The GoDaddy.com Bowl announced the finalists of this year’s Hoar Program Management Reading and Writing Contest. Approximately 10,000 entries were submitted from schools all over the area. Ten finalists were chosen, with six of them being from the Mobile area.

These finalists competed for savings bonds ranging from $500 to $10,000 by reading and writing a second book report on the night of November 29th. The winners were announced today at an awards ceremony at the Mobile Civic Center. The winners of the 2011 Hoar Program Management Reading and Writing Contest are:

$1000 Savings Bond Olivia Puranen, Pratville Intermediate School, Prattville, AL
$500 Savings Bond Elizabeth Busby, Collier Elementary School, Mobile, AL
$500 Savings Bond Emily Baker, Brock’s Gap Intermediate School, Hoover, AL
$500 savings Bond Taylor Respress, Huxford Elementary School, Atmore, AL
$500 Savings Bond Gabrielle Rivers, Breitling Elementary School, Grand Bay, AL

The ceremony was attended by Hannah Roberts, the 2011 Distinguished Young Woman of Mississippi, University of South Alabama Air Force ROTC, Dr. Roy Nichols, Mobile County School Superintendent, Mike Lanier with Hoar Program Management and Jerry Silverstein, GoDaddy.com Bowl President. All finalists were invited to attend the GoDaddy.com Bowl Mayor’s Luncheon, the Greer’s/Press-Register Mardi Gras Parade, and the GoDaddy.com Bowl Game, taking place during GoDaddy.com Bowl Week.

The HOAR Program Management Reading and Writing Program has donated over $203,500 in savings bonds to students participating in the program over the past 11 years.
