MOBILE, AL- (Nov.17, 2013) GoDaddy Bowl representatives announced today that tickets will go on sale Monday, November 18, for the 15th Anniversary GoDaddy Bowl Game. GoDaddy, the Web’s top platform for small business, is sponsoring the college football bowl game for a fourth consecutive year.
From the beginning, the GoDaddy Bowl has provided Mobile with some of the biggest names in sports. People like Danica Patrick, Terry Bradshaw, Boomer Esiason, Joe Theismann, Jeff Gordon, Pete Rose, Jake Peavy, Lee Corso, Mike Ditka, and Bobby Bowden have all been a part of the GoDaddy Bowl game tradition.
As in the past, the 2014 GoDaddy Bowl game events include an exciting list of activities. Bowl Week will officially kickoff on Wednesday, Jan. 1, at 7 p.m. CST, at the Great Southern Wood Team Welcome Reception at Ladd-Peebles Stadium. “This is not just our bowl game. This is Mobile’s bowl game and it has produced some heart-stopping outcomes over the past several years. We work hard to provide the first-class entertainment and edge-of-your-seat action that still have people talking for years after. The 2001 game that featured explosive offenses between Marshall and East Carolina, where Byron Leftwich threw for more than 575 yards in the exciting come-from-behind win in overtime 64-61,” said Frank Modarelli, GoDaddy Bowl Executive Director. “That is what it’s all about. We want to bring that to Mobile each year. The excitement not only impacts the athletes, fans, and us as a bowl, but it also gives our community something to talk about and look forward to.”
Go Daddy is also giving back to the community by providing up to 3000 tickets to the GoDaddy Bowl Kids Zone – a tailgate event venue developed to provide area non-profit and charity organizations for children the opportunity to have a college bowl experience. The children and their families are given passes to the Kids Zone section inside the stadium for the GoDaddy Bowl game.
Tickets remain competitively priced with reserved seating for $15 in the end zones and $45 along the sidelines. The 2014 GoDaddy Bowl is scheduled for 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium and will be aired nationally on ESPN. The GoDaddy Bowl will announce the two participating teams from the Mid-American Conference and the Sun Belt Conference in early December.
“We’ve been doing this for a long time – 14 years now – and we pride ourselves in providing a first-class event. Each year we hear of teams that have played in the GoDaddy Bowl that want to return and play here again. They want to experience the high level of professionalism and sportsmanship that we have put in place and the standards that we have established. And we could not ask for better support among the people of Mobile. Their southern hospitality provides the best atmosphere for our teams and their fans in making them feel welcome. Because of the reputation we have built, our support base and the events overall, everyone wants to see what Mobile has to offer,” said GoDaddy Bowl Director of Marketing and Media Relations, Julie Jeter.
