Local Art Contest Big Hit With Local Schools

Mobile, Ala. (Nov. 19, 2015) – The GoDaddy Bowl and New Horizons Credit Union concluded the tenth annual art competition with a banquet honoring the winners on November 18, 2015. The Banquet was held at the American Red Cross on Sage Avenue and hosted students, teachers, families and school officials.
This Year’s theme was “Southern Charm,” and the contest received over 200 entries. The contestants were grouped by grade level into the following categories: 6th-8th, 9th-10th, and 11th-12th. The Finalists were selected by judges from Eastern Shore Art Center and the Mobile Museum of Art.
The winners this year are:
6th-8th
1st Place – Roman Hinckle – Causey Middle School
2nd Place – Charlene Dupuis – Causey Middle School
3rd Place – Brian Nguyen – Causey Middle School

9th-10th
1st Place – Leah Brown – St. Paul’s Episcopal School
2nd Place – Sarah Posey – St. Paul’s Episcopal School
3rd Place – Caden Owens – Theodore High School

11th-12th
1st Place – Ayaka Hara – Satsuma High School
2nd Place – Lee Shepherd – Theodore High School
3rd Place – Hahyun Shin – Sastuma High School
3rd Place – Anna Alford – St. Paul’s Episcopal School

Since 2007, winning artwork has been chosen for the front cover of the GoDaddy Bowl Football Program, and all winners will be featured in the 2015 program. Since the contest’s inception, the GoDaddy Bowl has awarded over $17,800 to local schools’ art program.
The 17th Annual GoDaddy Bowl will be played Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN and kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
