UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA RASHAD JOHNSON TO SPEAK AT C SPIRE 1ST & 10 CLUB
Mobile, Ala. (Oct. 28, 2019) – University of Alabama Director of Player Development and Sideline Reporter for the Alabama Radio Network Rashad Johnson will speak at the C Spire 1st & 10 Club on Monday, Oct. 28 at the Mobile Marriott in Mobile, AL beginning at 5:30pm.
Rashad Johnson joined Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama in August of 2018 as a Defensive Analyst for the Crimson Tide, while also serving as the team’s Sideline Reporter. In January of 2019 he became the Director of Player Development and supports the student-athletes throughout their college careers.
Johnson’s role as the Director of Player Development focuses on the off-the-field activities of Alabama’s football student-athletes. He serves as an important resource in balancing the demands of academics, athletics and community outreach. Johnson also assists with personal development programs, including the peer intervention group.
He returned to Alabama after an eight-year NFL playing career with the Arizona Cardinals (2009-15) and Tennessee Titans (2016). He was a third-round pick of the Cardinals in 2009 and finished his career with 15 interceptions, 3 returned for touchdown, and 365 tackles.
A first team All-American and Team Co-Captain for the Crimson Tide in 2008, Johnson helped Alabama to a 12-2 season and a trip to the Sugar Bowl. He finished his UA career with 11 interceptions, 216 total tackles and 12 tackles for loss.
Johnson was a walk-on running back at Alabama before earning a scholarship and graduating with a degree in criminal justice in 2008. A native of Sulligent, Ala., Johnson and his wife Chelsea have a daughter, Hunter Averie.
