Louisiana and Miami Meet in LendingTree Bowl

MOBILE – The final bowl game of the 2019-20 college football season has arrived.

Louisiana (10-3) and Miami (8-5) will meet in the 21st annual LendingTree Bowl on Monday, Jan. 6 at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile. Kickoff is set for 6:33 p.m. (CT) and will be televised by ESPN. Dave Lamont (play-by-play), former Auburn coach Gene Chizik (analyst) and Lauren Sisler (reporter) will have the call from Mobile.

Louisiana has won 10 games for the first time in school history. The Ragin’ Cajuns are making their first appearance in the LendingTree Bowl.

“There are certainly lots of challenges in front of us with the Miami football team that we play Monday night,” Louisiana head coach Billy Napier said at Sunday’s press conference. “We have tons of respect for what their team has done. We’ve seen their improvement and that they did to position themselves into the championship game and find a way to win the championship. This should be a competitive game. Our kids are excited about it.”

Miami won the 2019 MAC Championship with a 26-21 win over Central Michigan in the MAC Championship Game in Detroit.  The Redhawks are making their third appearance at the LendingTree Bowl.

“They’ve got some dudes,” Miami head coach Chuck Martin told reporters on Sunday. “I told (Louisiana coach Billy Napier) at bowling the other night you put on the tape and look for chinks in the armor, hoping maybe the O-line isn’t very good, but the O-line is very good. Hoping maybe they are a little undisciplined, but they are really, really disciplined on both sides and special teams. We have a great opponent, so we have to go play our tails off to give them a good game.”
