SPORTS ILLUSTRATED TOUTS LENDINGTREE BOWL AMONG 2021 BEST BOWLS
Mobile, Ala. (December 9,2021) – Sports Illustrated is encouraging its readers to watch this year’s LendingTree Bowl.
The 23rd annual LendingTree Bowl will match the Liberty Flames against the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 4:45 p.m. (CT) from Hancock Whitney Stadium in Mobile. Both teams are first-time participants in the LendingTree Bowl.
Sports Illustrated ranked the bowl games from No. 1 all the way through No. 42. The LendingTree Bowl was ranked No. 16 and is the highest ranked bowl without a Power 5 team on the list.
“(Liberty) quarterback Malik Willis might just be playing on Sundays soon,” the article said. “He averages about 215 yards through the air and another 70 on the ground. In fact, Willis averages the third-most yards rushing a game among FBS quarterbacks and has scored 11 touchdowns on the ground.”
