Teams Arrive for LendingTree Bowl

Mobile – Bowl week is officially underway in the port city.Eastern Michigan and Liberty arrived in town today to begin preparations for the 23rd annual LendingTree Bowl, which will be played Saturday, Dec. 18 at 4:45 p.m. at Hancock Whitney Stadium.Eastern Michigan was the first team to arrive in town and Coach Chris Creighton and his football team spent the afternoon at Dauphin Island.

With temperatures in the low 70s in Mobile, compared to upper 40s on Ypsilanti, the beach seemed like the place to be for the Eagles.

Creighton joined Liberty head coach Hugh Freeze at the C-Spire 1st and 10 Club at Heron Lakes Country Club.

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson welcomed both teams to town and presented both head coaches with a key to the city.

The coaches were interviewed by Mobile sports personality Randy Kennedy and then met with the local media through one-on-one interviews.

The teams wrapped up their first day in town with a welcome reception at their respective hotels.
