THE LENDINGTREE BOWL GOES BIG FOR TEACHER AND THE COMMUNITY THROUGH SEVERAL NEW PROGRAMS THIS SEASON

Mobile, Ala. (September 20, 2022) – The LendingTree Bowl joined with the college football family to go BIG to support teachers with the third annual BIG DAY today, Tuesday, September 20. Organized by the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation, the BIG DAY is a national day of supporting and celebrating teachers, by saying “thank you” in many ways to amazing educators dedicated to helping our kids learn.

The LendingTree Bowl would like to congratulate Kelly Parker from Tanner Williams Elementary School on receiving funding for her classroom. LendingTree Bowl is going big for teaching by presenting Ms. Parker with a $1,000 grant to select necessary resources to enrich the learning environment at Tanner Williams Elementary School. Ms. Parker graduated from the University of South Alabama with a BA and Master Degree as well as an Education Specialist Degree from the University of West Alabama. Ms. Parker is LETRS certification (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) and has attended Space Camp for Teachers at the USA Space and Rocket Center. Ms. Parker was one of the first dyslexia interventionist resource teachers at MCPSS and she took a lead role in implementing project-based learning.

In addition, to the grant for Ms. Parker, the LendingTree Bowl announced today they will be honoring 10 more teachers with $1,000 each at the 2022 LendingTree Bowl Game for a total of $11,000 in education grants this year. Nomination for these grants opened today on the LendingTree Bowl Website.

Along with the Bowl’s participation in the Extra Yard for Teachers programs, the LendingTree Bowl announced in August the renewal of the LendaHand program, a small business grant program. These programs combined with the LendingTree Bowl’s annual art competition will result in over $53,000 being pumped into the local community this year in some of the most needed places.
