LENDINGTREE BOWL AND SOUTH ALABAMA SOCCER PARTNER FOR YOUTH SOCCER CLINIC
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Mobile, Ala. (March 21, 2023) – Monday, March 20th, boys and girls’ grades K5 through 8th grade from Mobile and the surrounding region attended a youth soccer clinic presented by the LendingTree Bowl and South Alabama Soccer, a free half-day clinic of soccer skills and drills training at South Alabama’s Soccer Facilities, “The Cage”.
The 100 participants had the opportunity to meet and work with South Alabama players and coaches; run offensive, defensive and agility drills’; learn proper techniques to promote on-field safety; and learn about the importance of character development and good sportsmanship. The morning started with a motivational talk by South Alabama Head Soccer Coach, Richard Moodie.
The annual clinic took on a little bit of a new look this year, with the LendingTree Bowl moving from their traditional clinic held in the summer months. The Bowl specifically selected the clinic date to coincide with a Teacher In-Service Day for the Mobile County Public School System giving parents and participants a fun and enriching activity to fill the day. The clinic was held on the University of South Alabama’s campus from 10:30 am – 1:30 pm. Each participant was gifted a soccer ball and a Foosackly’s box lunch provided by the Bowl Office. Coca Cola provided water and Powerade products to ensure the participants stay hydrated for the day.
This year, the LendingTree Bowl celebrates its 25th year with the game to be played in December 2023 and televised nationally on ESPN. Played at Hancock Whitney Stadium, the game pits top-selected teams from the Sun Belt Conference and the Mid-American Conference.
