New Horizons Credit Union Art Contest Winners Recognized.

Mobile, Ala. (Nov. 19, 2014) – The GoDaddy Bowl and New Horizons Credit Union concluded the ninth annual art competition with a banquet honoring the winners on November 19, 2014. The banquet was held at the American Red Cross on Sage Avenue and hosted students, teachers, families and school officials from schools in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

This year’s theme was Cultural Influences of the Mobile Bay Area, and the contest received over 200 entries. The contestants were grouped by grade level into the following categories: 6th-8th, 9th-10th, and 11th-12th. The finalists were selected by judges from Eastern Shore Art Center, the Mobile Museum of Art and New Horizons Credit Union.

The winners this year are:

6th-8th
1st Place: Alannah Taylor, Causey Middle School
2nd Place: Cameron Tait, Causey Middle School
3rd Place: Jonathan Clair, Causey Middle School

9th-10th
1st Place: T.J. Roberts, Theodore High School
2nd Place: Ansley Bohannon, Theodore High School
3rd Place: Alex Box, Fairhope High School

11th-12th
1st Place: Niki McMullen, Theodore High School
2nd Place: Abby Young, Theodore High School
3rd Place: Landon Pitalo, Theodore High School

The students received cash prize awards for their school’s art programs and were also presented with plaques and gifts from the GoDaddy Bowl and New Horizons Credit Union. The winning artwork will be displayed in various places throughout Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

Since 2007, winning artwork has been chosen for the front cover of the GoDaddy Bowl Football Program, and all winners will be featured in the 2015 program. Since the contest’s inception, the GoDaddy Bowl has awarded over $16,000 to local schools’ art programs.

The 16th Annual GoDaddy Bowl will be played Sunday January, 4 2015, at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN and kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. CST.
