Ron Zook, Barry Alvarez Complete 2012 New Horizons Credit Union 1st & 10 Club Speakers

Mobile, ALA – (August 10, 2012) Former University of Florida head football coach Ron Zook will be kicking off the 14th season of the New Horizons Credit Union 1st & 10 Club presented by the GoDaddy.com Bowl. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 10, and will be held at Heron Lakes Country Club beginning at 5:30 pm.

The speakers this year also include Ellis Johnson (USM), Howard Schnellenberger, Jeremy Pruitt (UA), Barry Alvarez (UW), Bobby Bowden, Greg Studrawa (LSU), Joey Jones (USA), former coach at Notre Dame and Miami Ohio Mike Haywood, Gus Malzahn (ASU), Dr. Jerry Punch (ESPN) and the head football coaches for the 2013 GoDaddy.com Bowl game on Sunday, January 6.

In addition to the speaker line-up, the club will recognize students from high schools in Mobile and Baldwin County for their outstanding performance on the field, in the classroom and in the community. Each week, New Horizons Credit Union will present awards for the Scholar of the Week to two academic students. These students will then be eligible for a scholarship that will be awarded at the GoDaddy.com Bowl Mayor’s Luncheon on January 4, 2013. Also honored each week are two outstanding high school student athletes.

New Horizons Credit Union, formerly Scott Credit Union, has been providing financial services to Southwestern Alabama since 1950. The Credit Union is a local, member-owned, not-for-profit organization, governed by a member-elected Board of Directors.
