Big Names Scheduled For 2012 New Horizons Credit Union 1st & 10 Club

Mobile, AL – (July 29, 2012) The 14th annual New Horizons Credit Union 1st & 10 Club announced today that former Florida State head football coach Bobby Bowden will be in Mobile to speak to members this year. Also included on the list are former Auburn offensive coordinator and current Arkansas State University head football coach, Gus Malzhan and former Miami Hurricane head football coach, Howard Schnellenberger. Coaches from the University of Alabama and LSU will also be speaking this year.

In addition, for the 14th year the club will recognize academic students and student athletes from high schools in Mobile and Baldwin County for their outstanding performance on the field and in the classroom. Each week, New Horizons Credit Union will award the Scholar of the Week to two academic students. Recipients of this award will then be eligible for a scholarship that will be awarded the week of the GoDaddy.com Bowl at the GoDaddy.com Bowl Mayor’s Banquet on January 4, 2013. Also honored each week will be two outstanding high school student athletes.

Meetings are held on Monday nights at Heron Lakes Country Club beginning at 5:30 pm. Yearly membership fees are $300.00 per person and include dinner. A final speaker schedule will be announced when available.

New Horizons Credit Union, formerly Scott Credit Union, has been providing financial services to Southwestern Alabama since 1950. The Credit Union is a local, member-owned, not-for-profit organization, governed by a member-elected Board of Directors.
