On Your Mark, Get Set, Spell

Mobile, AL – The 2010 New Horizons Credit Union Mobile County Spelling Bee, presented by the GMAC Bowl, will be held Friday, February 5, 2010, at Bishop State’s Baker-Gaines Central Campus Auditorium from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Fifty-five elementary and middle school students from public, private, and parochial schools will participate in the contest. The GMAC Bowl will be providing football tickets and gift bags to each local school winner, is sponsoring the luncheon catered by McAllisters, and providing trophies and cash rewards to the first, second, and third place winners.

The 2010 New Horizons Credit Union Mobile County Spelling Bee Champion will participate in the Alabama Spelling Bee at Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham, Alabama on March 6, 2010. Adventure Travel, the state sponsor, will send the Alabama winner to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. The Scripps National Spelling Bee Week begins May 23, 2010, and concludes May 31, 2010.
