Merchants & Marine Bank Flight Works Alabama Tour

The Bowl office announced today they’ve renewed their partnership with Merchants & Marine Bank and will be expanding this year’s Flight Works Alabama Tour to include two separate events/tours. The LendingTree Bowl will host the participating bowl teams and youth from Mobile County as they tour, explore and learn all about aviation. Each Bowl Player will be paired with either a student from Tanner Williams Elementary School or a Team Focus member.

Flight Works interactive exhibits teach about the forces that affect the flight of an aircraft, aid in understanding the science behind the design of flight, and experience the manufacturing of an aircraft. Flight Works also offers virtual reality experiences for the kids to enjoy. The two groups attending this year’s tour were chosen for their connections to the LendingTree Bowl community programs and events.

For the first tour of the day, Bowl Players will host students from Tanner Williams Elementary School. The children are members of Ms. Kelly Parker’s class for both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years. Ms. Parker was chosen earlier this year by the Bowl for a classroom grant as part of the Bowl’s participation in the CFP Foundation’s Big Day of Giving. In addition to the grant, the Bowl extended the invitation to Ms. Parker’s classes to take part in this Flight Works Alabama Event. Ms. Parker, who was the 2021-22 Mobile County Public School’s “Teacher of the Year”, focuses heavily on S.T.E.M in her classroom and she strives to enrich the lives of her students through utilizing technology as a learning tool.

For the second tour of the day, the Bowl Players will host members of Team Focus.  Team Focus is an organization that provides young men without fathers a year-round program of support, encouragement and Godly values that foster the development of life skills and strengthen the family structure in young men ages 10-18.

The Bowl works closely with Mobile County Public Schools and Team Focus throughout the year and is excited to provide both groups with this experience. In addition to the tour, the LendingTree Bowl will provide each participant with a meal and goodie bag.
